T. Keith Robertson Named Outstanding Board of Governors Member by The ESOP Association

May 17, 2006 (Washington, DC) – T. Keith Robertson, Information Systems Manager at ComSonics, Inc. in Harrisonburg, Virginia, has been named the 2006 Outstanding Board of Governors Member by The ESOP Association. The award was presented at the Association’s 29th Annual Conference held in Washington, DC. The ESOP Association is the national trade association for companies with employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) and the leading voice in America for employee ownership.

Mr. Robertson is a leader in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Association and has been key in getting Virginia’s Senators and Representatives to co-sponsor pro-ESOP legislation. Always one to be involved with the work of the Association, he has participated in the Association’s Annual Awards for Communications Excellence program as a judge and was a member of the Association’s all important Nominating Committee for the 2006 elections. In 2001, Mr. Robertson was named the Employee Owner of the Year by the Association. He is the first person in the history of The ESOP Association to win that award and then go on to win a second national award from the Association.

“Keith is very special in the ESOP community. If only one hundred ESOP advocates emulated Keith’s dedication and leadership for employee ownership, we would have 150 to 200 ESOP champions in Congress. He is always there when we need him and for whatever task,” said J. Michael Keeling, President of The ESOP Association. “Of course, we honor ComSonics when we honor Keith, for creating a culture that encourages employee owners to be advocates for ESOPs with elected officials.”

Founded in 1978, The ESOP Association represents over 1,400 ESOP companies and 750,000 employee owners who believe that employee ownership will improve American competitiveness, increase productivity through greater employee participation and strengthen our free enterprise economy.
